20 At Home Date Night Ideas

Valentines day is just around the corner! Whether the babysitter fell through at the last minute, or your looking for something a little more “low-key” during this season, try one of these ideas for your next date night at home.

1. Movie Marathon

Bust out the popcorn! Is it an 80’s throwback or rom-com theme?

2. Conversation Cards and Tea

Set up your cozy spot on the couch or bundle up for tea time on the porch. Brew your favorite tea (bonus points if its served in a tea pot) and take turns pulling cards to start a little conversation!

You can find a million different decks of conversation cards with a quick online search, but a few options include:

Date Deck

Healthier Together: Conversations for Creating your Healthiest, Happiest Life

Cultivated Conversation Card Deck

3. Host a Double Date Night

Invite your friends over for a couples hang! Tapas potluck anyone???

4. 5 Memories

Enjoy some quality time together. Take a few minutes to write down 5 favorite memories and share them with each other. Spending intentional time together doesn’t have to be a big production ♡

5. Chopped Challenge

This one is for my Food Network fans! Each partner picks 2-3 “secret ingredients” and the other has to come up with a dish to prepare! You could do this for apps, dinner, dessert, or even drinks!

6. Craft Night

Pop open the wine and bust out the canvases! It’s time for paint and pinot.

7. Write out your “Bucket List”

What is something you have ALWAYS wanted to do, but haven’t gotten the chance yet? Where is your number one travel destination? Is there a new hobby you’ve been wanting to try? Make a list of your collaborated ideas!

8. Outdoor Movie

This one is particularly nice in the summer months, but if you have enough blankets (and perhaps a covered porch) you can make this a winter activity no problem! Bring out the projector or laptop and cozy up!

(Bonus points for playing the first movie you ever watched together)

9. Fondue Night

Does this one really need an explanation??

10. Pillow Fort!

Embrace your inner child and start building with pillows! Cozy up with blankets and your bevy of choice and tie it in with a movie marathon!

11. Bathtime

If you’re anything like me, there is nothing more relaxing than a hot bubble bath, candles, and a glass of wine.

12. Book Club, anyone?

Any other book worms in the mix?! Choose a new book and read aloud to each other.

13. Charcuterie for Dinner

It might be a little chilly for a picnic in the park, but you can still bust out the checkered blanket and cheese board in the living room!

14. Love Language Quiz

Take the quick online quiz and compare your love languages!

15. Homemade Pasta Night

Dust off your pasta roller and cook up some noodles! Pair with your favorite sauce and you’re set!

16. Dress up!

Order for delivery so you don’t have to lift a finger. Dress up in your going out fashion, light the candles, start the date night playlist, and cue the romance.

17. Take a trip down memory lane

Do you keep a photo album? A collection of home videos? Snuggle up on the couch with a hot cup of tea and flip through the memories together (Maybe you’ll even pick some out to frame).

18. Dance Party!

Who doesn’t love a good old fashioned dance party? Throw on your favorite playlist and share a dance together! Will you have a 90s throw back theme or maybe throw on your wedding playlist?

Pro tip: Kids asleep? Grab your bluetooth headphones and silent rave!

19. Future Memories

Ready for a vacation? Make a couple of your favorite bevy’s and plan your dream summer vacation! Whether you’re spinning the globe to see where your finger lands, or taking a weekend camping trip close to home, planning your next family adventure together can be such a sweet experience and gives you something to look forward to!

20. Drinks, Dinner, Dessert? Yes please!

It’s a classic date for a reason! Enjoy all the take out or prep each step together!

Whether you have 20 minutes or 2 hours, setting aside intentional time to be together is incredibly rejuvenating. Try some of these ideas and let me know in the comments which one is your favorite!
